Almost all of us after having a great meal want to lay down and watch the favorite TV show or new movie.
But do you know that this is the worst thing we do after eating? There a few small habits like this which can lead to unhealthy life and can cause a lot of problems to our bodies.

After having a meal, the stomach need to burn the food, so if you are going to sleep right after the dinner it can cause bloating, discomfort and odd sleeping patterns. One study found that people who waited longer after eating to go to sleep have less chances of having a stroke. The conclusion is that we should not eat at least few hours before going to bed.
Smoking is one of the most common habits that people have. On another side, this is one of the worst things you can do to your lungs. But if you are a heavy smoker, wait couple of hours after your meal. Main reason is because the nicotine slows down the oxygen that is needed for the proper digestion, and this will allow your body to absorb more carcinogens than usual. There is a study proving that having a cigarette right after a meal is equal to lighting 10 cigarettes at once.
When there is more blood flow in body, legs and hands there is less blood flow in stomach. This is the case when we shower. Showering can slow down the digestive system and cause stomach pains.
4. Eat Fruit
We know that fruit is very healthy and you could eat it at any time. But you didn’t know that eating fruit on empty stomach is the best. Reason why is because fruits require enzymes to digest and the sugars in fruit need some time in order to be completely absorbed. Being said, if you have fruit after a meal, the fruit won’t be digested and will remain in your stomach and will root in the gut.
5. Drink Tea
How many times after you had your meal, someone offered you with a tea? Many times I guess. Bud did you know that the tannic acid in the tea binds with protein and iron, which prevents the body to get the benefits of digestion. This can lead to 87% decrease in iron absorption. The low iron can lead to anemia, extreme fatigue, pale skin, dizziness, weakness, poor appetite, cold hands and feet.
Next time you eat, think twice and organize your time. Make sure you leave space between eating fruit, lying down, drinking tea, or showering. Just stop smoking!
