Even though many people consume foods that are rich in B vitamins, they are not getting the right amount of folate. As a matter of fact, records indicate that up to 96% of Americans field to consume the recommended minimum amount of green leafy vegetables. What does this mean?

Add more plants in your diet. This might reduce the fiber found in dark leafy vegetables can boost folate levels in the bloodstream by approximately 2 percent. The folate raises vitamin production in the colon.

With all things considered, you should also remember that there are other alternatives to the plant-based diet. Vegans have a higher chance of suffering from hyperhomocysteinemia (excessive amounts of homocysteine in the blood). Because their diet lacks vitamin B-12.
